In Episode 11 of Global Reach, Local Voice, we hear from Howard Freeman, Partner at Shorts in the United Kingdom, about how joining Praxity has been a “game changer” for his firm.
Supporting clients internationally
Howard explains that Shorts joined the Alliance in 2018 to better support clients with international needs. Since then, the firm has been able to confidently provide access to expertise across the globe:
“Our clients know we can go to them and say, you know, we have the contacts and we have the expertise available to them, across the world, which is great.”
Unexpected benefits
While the goal was to serve existing clients more effectively, Shorts has also received more inbound referrals than expected:
“We thought we might get some work referred back into our firm as well, but that wasn’t the main reason. But actually, the amount of work we’ve had referred to us from all around the world has been a lot more than we expected.”
This has created what Howard calls a “win-win situation” for both clients and the firm.
The value of choice
For Howard, Praxity’s strength lies in the fact that firms actively choose to be part of the Alliance:
“Everyone’s really keen to help. So I think it’s perhaps quite different to say the Big Four firms where you’re in that international sort of network because you happen to work for an international firm, whereas all [our] guys they’ve opted in because they want their expertise, they want to get involved, they want to help your clients.”
