Jos started his career as a public accountant in 1968, becoming a partner in 1980 with the Dutch firm Paardekooper en Hoffman. He was elected as an executive partner of Paardekooper en Hoffman in the late 1980s and became chair of the firm in 1992. Jos continued as chair when the merger took place with Mazars in 2000 to create Mazars Paardekooper Hoffman N.V. At the time of the merger he was also appointed to the Mazars Group Executive Board a position he holds today. He is a member of the Dutch Institute of Registered Accountants and sits on  various technical and advisory committees within the Institute. He was recently appointed to the Executive Board of FEE (Fédération des Experts Comptables Européens). Jos also serves on the supervisory boards of a number of not-for-profit institutions.
