Mississauga-based accounting and consulting firm EvansMartin LLP will merge with MNP, one of Canada’s largest chartered accounting and consulting firms, effective January 1, 2012. Focused on the mid-market, both firms were looking for an opportunity to add resources to better serve their clients throughout Mississauga and surrounding areas.
Although MNP has an Insolvency practice in Mississauga, this merger marks MNP’s first full-service office in Mississauga. MNP also operates Ontario-based, full-service offices in Toronto, Markham, Waterloo and Cambridge. This latest merger brings approximately 35 more team members to MNP.
“I am thrilled about this merger,” said Daryl Ritchie, CEO, MNP. “Although we serve a number of Mississauga-based clients, we didn’t have a full-service office there. We were looking to join forces with a like-minded firm and couldn’t have found a better fit. EvansMartin has a team of dedicated professionals who, like us, are focused on the mid-market. Together, we are adding more resources to better serve the Mississauga and region marketplace.”
Since 1975, EvansMartin has provided value-added professional services to a wide range of clients and industries in Mississauga and surrounding areas, including Manufacturing, Professional Services, Construction, Financial Services, Real estate, and Technology. They offer a full range of accounting, tax and business advisory services needed by mid-market private and public companies.
Allen Church, a Partner with EvansMartin LLP will become the Managing Partner for MNP’s full-service Mississauga office. Church added that he was impressed with MNP’s ability to provide an expanded national and global reach to clients. “MNP has a large national presence and hundreds of MNP experts and specialists, as well as access to a global network of accounting firms and affiliations through Praxity—an international alliance of independent accounting firms,” said Church. “By joining MNP, we are adding more resources and experience to better serve the needs of our clients, wherever their business may take them.”
“As a growing firm, we were looking to join a firm that would not only complement our current service offerings but that also served numerous industry and specialty groups and understands the specialized markets in which our clients operate,” said Wally Rudensky, Partner, EvansMartin LLP. “By joining MNP, we can ensure we continue to deliver unique solutions tailored to our clients’ individual needs.”
Changing and dynamic market conditions are impacting the way businesses must operate. “In today’s marketplace, it’s important to continually look at new ways to help our clients achieve their goals,” added John Martin, one of the Founding Partners for EvansMartin LLP. “Joining MNP is a great example of how two firms can come together to provide more resources and services, giving our clients the edge they need to stay competitive and overcome current business and industry challenges.”
MNP credits its strategic mergers and acquisitions, value-added services, and corporate culture for catapulting the firm to lead with the highest year-over-year growth rates of any of Canada’s top accounting firms for more than five years straight.
“To maintain our corporate culture, we have been very strategic about who we invite to join our team,” explained Ritchie. “We carefully guard our corporate culture, and as a result, we have a low client and employee turnover and are attracting some of the brightest professionals in our industry.”
The EvansMartin team, composed of five partners and approximately 30 more team members, will remain in their current location at 75 Courtneypark Drive West, Unit 1 in Mississauga.
