15/03/2010 - Participant News: Bridging the GAAP 2010 - IFRS Newsletter - Issue 1
Bridging the GAAP is jointly published by Mazars LLP, Weiser LLP, and Moss Adams LLP, member firms of Praxity AISBL.
In this issue of Bridging the GAAP we continue our analysis of the revision of the standard on income tax. One change compared to the current standard is the accounting for uncertain tax position, which converges to US GAAP, even if the measurement method still differs.
Also in this issue, we address the slower pace noted in 2009 in the movement toward the adoption of IFRS in the U.S.
Finally, we present a recent interpretation (IFRIC 19), which may be of great importance for companies trying to refinance their debt by issuing equity.
We have strong and extensive experience as auditors of international companies which are issuing IFRS financial statements, reporting under IFRS, or have converged to IFRS. This experience enables us to assist US firms or international firms based in the US in preparing their convergence to IFRS.
